# Lens Protection
Our Nylon Optic lenses are rated for 120 hours of continuous exposure to humidity and saltwater. This is the highest in the industry. This means they're strong but sometimes mother earth is stronger and it doesn't mean they're indestructible.
Here are some suggestions for how to protect your lenses in the future:
- After use in saltwater, rinse with fresh water before wiping the lenses down
- Take care not to wipe with certain apparel with anti-odor materials (often containing silver) that can wear away at the lenses
- Avoid leaving your shades in high heat areas such as the dashboard of your vehicle
Whew, now that that’s out of the way it’s time to go play.
Thanks for being part of the Rheos family!
